COVID-19 Information

The 2020 Bristol Bay Fly Fishing and Guide Academy was postponed due to COVID-19.

Academy organizers pushed the 2021 Academy to August 2021 to give ample time for vaccinations and developing social distancing protocols intended to keep students, instructors, visitors and the community of Igiugig safe.

Igiugig COVID-19 Mandates (updated May 2021)

The 2021 Bristol Bay Fly Fishing and Guide Academy is requiring that all students and instructors have one of the following prior to arrival in Igiugig.

  1. A COVID-19 vaccination
  2. A negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of departure to Igiugig
  3. A positive antibody test from the last 90 days

Students and instructors will be transported directly from the airport to the landing in Igiugig and across the Kvichak River to Last Cast Lodge to avoid contact with community members. Social distancing protocols will be encouraged during the indoor instruction component of the Academy. Hand sanitizer and masks will be made available to students and instructors throughout the Academy.

If you need assistance acquiring a vaccination or a COVID-19 test, please refer to BBNC’s medical resources or your local health provider.
